Workshop about sampleclearing and strategies to avoid legal trouble with Ingrid Yeboah (Berlin)

Important: This workshop has a limited capacity. After you purchase a ticket, you will receive an email with instructions on how to register.

Led by copyright and media law attorney Ingrid Yeboah, we will address the topic of sample clearing and copyright in the music industry. This workshop is aimed at musicians and anyone interested in sampling and music. No matter if you have already made your first steps in music production or if you can already look back on some releases, this workshop should provide you with valuable insights and practical tips.

In this workshop we will first look at the legal aspects of copyright. Ingrid Yeboah will give us a deep insight into the current legal situation and show us how to identify legal loopholes and loopholes in order not to limit yourself in the creative process. We will also consider the perspective of the creators and learn how to treat their intellectual property respectfully.

A special focus of the workshop will be on sample clearing, a method that allows you to use legally protected music samples in your own productions. Ingrid Yeboah will explain to us the different aspects of sample clearing, from identifying the creators to obtaining the necessary permissions.

During the workshop we will also have space for discussion and questions. You can share your own experiences, learn from other participants, and discover new approaches together. In addition, Ingrid Yeboah will present practical examples from the music industry and provide you with valuable resources that will help you even after the workshop.

Ingrid Yeboah:

After studying law in Hannover, Düsseldorf and New York, Ingrid first moved into the entertainment industry, where she worked as an artist manager for a renowned artist agency. There she promoted the careers of musicians, actors and presenters through the best possible placement in the media and was responsible for negotiating the corresponding contracts. After almost six years as an artist manager, she completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in IP/Media Law at the University of Berlin (HU Berlin) and decided to return to her roots and founded her own law firm, in which she has since dedicated herself to all topics of the entertainment industry.
